Free & Voluntary Present

ST MINVER

1661

This, as the name indicates, is a list of those persons making a 'free present' or contribution to King Charles II. The Receiver of the contribution was Edward Hender at Launceston on 8th November 1661.  By Act of Parliament, these gifts of money enabled a penniless and exiled Charles to return to England to be crowned King Charles II on 23 April 1661.
